What is a rashie?

A rashie (short for rash vest or rash guard) is a close-fitting, stretchy swim top designed to be worn in and around the water. Originally developed for surfers to prevent wetsuit rash, they've become an Aussie beach staple — especially for kids.

Unlike a wetsuit, a rashie offers no thermal protection — it's purely for sun and skin protection. On warm days, or in heated pools, it's the perfect lightweight layer. Pair it with boardshorts, swim bottoms, or under a wetsuit for cooler water.
